Baltimore Arena Renovation Breaks Ground

(Courtesy Oak View Group) Pharrell Williams, Kevin Durant Bring Star Power To Project The $200 million redevelopment of Baltimore Arena has broken ground and 13-time Grammy winner Pharrell Williams and NBA star Kevin Durant are on board as part of an investment group backing the project. Oak View Group, parent company of VenuesNow, is leading redevelopment of the 60-year-old city-owned arena in partnership with The Baltimore Development Corporation, Fundamental Advisors and Thirty Five Ventures, a company founded by Durant and his longtime manager and business partner Rich Kleiman. The work is expected to take 12 months and transform the former Royal Farms Arena (and Baltimore Civic Center), once the home of the Baltimore Bullets, into a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue that can anchor downtown Baltimore’s west side and serve as a development and economic driver for the area.
