Jennifer Lopez performs on her “It’s My Party” tour. (Getty Images) Jennifer Lopez earns a Hot Tickets ranking for sold-out concerts at two arenas on her “It’s My Party” tour that played 25 cities in the U.S. and Canada this summer. Miami’s AmericanAirlines Arena and Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., both hit the top 10 in the category of venues with capacities from 15,001 to 30,000, the Miami venue at No. 1 and Newark’s arena at No. 8. AmericanAirlines Arena hosted Lopez for a three-night engagement July 25-27 to close out the tour’s opening North American leg with 40,055 total tickets. The combined gross reached $5.4 million and is the second highest of the tour’s summertime trek. Only a two-show stint at New York City’s Madison Square Garden scored a larger box-office take, topping the Miami tally by just over $50,000. Grande Heads to Europe With Sweetener Trek

Ariana Grande performs Aug. 4 at Lollapalooza in Chicago. (Getty Images) Five shows at London’s O2 Arena highlight 19-city itinerary On the heels of her headlining stint as the final-night closer at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Aug. 4, it’s off to Europe for Ariana Grande as she takes her Sweetener world tour across the pond for its second leg. The first concert is scheduled at the O2 Arena in London, where she last headlined in June 2015, drawing 13,549 fans to her Honeymoon tour. For 2017’s Dangerous Woman trek, the O2 was originally on the itinerary, but her London show was one of several canceled in European arenas after the terrorist bombing following her show at Manchester Arena in May of that year. This summer she makes her return to the O2 on Aug. 17, 19 and 20 to begin the current tour’s nine-week trek through 19 cities on the… Continue Reading Grande Heads to Europe With Sweetener Trek

Live! Roundup: As Summer Heats Up, Legends Take Charge of Charts

Bob Weir and Mickey Hart perform with Dead & Company. (Getty Images) Never mind the scenarios where the old guard quietly takes a back seat to let the younger generation take over. That’s not the case in concert touring, as evidenced by the marquee names on this month’s Hot Tickets charts. With the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney each landing three sold-out concert engagements in the More Than 30,000 Capacity category — along with performances by Dead & Company, Billy Joel and Phil Collins — the old guard touring giants are alive and well in 2019. The Stones lead the charge with sold-out stadium dates in three U.S. markets topped by a $21.7 million gross from two nights at Chicago’s Soldier Field. The shows launched the band’s 2019 summer jaunt that was postponed earlier this year because of Mick Jagger’s health issues. The veteran rockers also hit the chart with… Continue Reading Live!
